Randy Gregg (ice hockey)

John Randall " Randy " Gregg ( born February 19, 1956 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played from 1982 to 1992 for the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League.

Career

Randy Gregg began his career as a hockey player in the team of the University of Alberta, for whom he played from 1975 to 1979. He then played one season with the junior team Canada before he was two years in Japan at Tokyo Kokudo Keikado under contract. In the 1981/82 season the defender made ​​his debut in the National Hockey League when he ran aground four times in the playoffs for the Edmonton Oilers from his hometown. In October of the same year Gregg received a contract as a free agent with the Oilers, for whom he played the next eight years. During this time, Gregg won in 1987, 1988 and 1990 with Edmonton in four years three times the prestigious Stanley Cup.

In 1990, Gregg was selected by the Vancouver Canucks, but he decided to end his career. After a year break, the Canadians, however, one more season in the NHL decided aground Vancouver, before finally in 1992 ended his career.

Internationally

For Canada, Randy Gregg participated in the 1980 Winter Olympics and 1988 Winter Olympic Games and the Canada Cup in 1984 in part.
