Randy Quaid

Randy Quaid ( born October 1, 1950 in Houston, Texas ) is an American actor.

Life and career

Randy Quaid, the older brother of Dennis Quaid, is a character actor who played since the 1970s, alongside major Hollywood stars. His screen debut was in 1971 with a supporting role in Peter Bogdanovich's film drama The Last Picture Show, three years later he was nominated for an Oscar The last command as Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the Hal Ashby film.

In his career, he was also nominated three times for an Emmy Award and once won the Golden Globe for television work. From 1985 to 1991 he was part of the ensemble of the U.S. sketch show Saturday Night Live.

His depiction of a homophobic rancher in Brokeback Mountain earned him a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Shortly after the release of the film Quaid sued the producers of the film to 10 million U.S. dollars plus punitive damages because they had presented to him the film as a low budget project without prospect of gain, to secure his participation in a lower salary. In May 2006, Quaid withdrew its litigation after the studio made ​​additional payments in view. Quaid is married to the producer Evi Motolanez since 1989. From a previous marriage he has one child.

In September 2010, Quaid and Motolanez were arrested for trespassing in California. The couple is said to have illegally lived in the house in Montecito, where they had once lived.
