Randy Robitaille

Randy Robitaille ( born October 12, 1975 in Ottawa, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is under contract with HK Donbass Donetsk in the Kontinental Hockey League since January 2013.

Career

Randy Robitaille began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at the Ottawa Jr. Senators, for which he was active from 1993 to 1995. He then attended two years, the Miami University, for their hockey team he was parallel in the National Collegiate Athletic Association active. On March 27, 1997 he was awarded a contract as a free agent with the Boston Bruins, for in a game in the National Hockey League, he stood up to the end of the 1996/97 season on the ice. In the following two years he played mostly for Boston's farm team Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League, while he only came to a total of nine other NHL appearances for Boston. From 1999 to 2001 played the Center for the Nashville Predators in the NHL, for their farm team Milwaukee Admirals he in the 2000 /01 season in the International Hockey League was parallel to the ice. The 2001/02 season he began with the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL and their AHL farm team Manchester Monarchs before he played in the following one and a half years for the NHL team the Pittsburgh Penguins. Shortly before the end of the season 2002/ 03 he was finally transferred to the New York Islanders. In the 2003 /04 season he rushed again for the Atlanta Thrashers.

During the lockout in the 2004/05 season Robitaille played for the ZSC Lions of the Swiss National League A. He immediately became top scorer and best assist provider in the league. After the resumption of gaming operations in the NHL he played in the 2005/06 season for the Minnesota Wild. The following season he joined the Philadelphia Flyers and finished it with his ex-team New York Islanders. In the 2007 /08 season he began to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Russian Super League. For the team, he scored three goals in 14 games and five assists before he was hired in October 2007 as a free agent by the Ottawa Senators from his home town. From 2008 to 2010, the Canadians, however, played again in the Swiss NLA, this time for the HC Lugano. During his second engagement in Switzerland, he was able to convince especially in the season 2009/10 when he top scorer and best original donor of the league was again. He spent the following season with the San Antonio Rampage in the AHL. For the 2011/12 season the longtime NHL player Metallurg Novokuznetsk of the Kontinental Hockey League was committed.
