Ranga Reddy district

Rangareddy, also Rangareddi and Ranga Reddy ( Telugu: రంగా రెడ్డి జిల్లా; Urdu: رنگاریڈی ضلع ) is one of 23 districts in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The administrative center is the city of Hyderabad.

Geography

The district lies to the west of Andhra Pradesh. It is to the west by the state of Karnataka, in the north of the district Medak, Mahbubnagar district framed by the east by the Nalgonda district and in the south. He also encloses the district of Hyderabad.

The district has an area of ​​7493 km 2, and thus belongs to the area the smaller districts in Andhra Pradesh (2.7 % of the area of Andhra Pradesh ). 731 km 2 of the area is forested ( 9.8 percent). Population

Demographics

Strongest town inhabitants of the district is the main town Kukatpalle with nearly 300,000 residents. Other important towns with more than 200,000 inhabitants are Lalbahadur Nagar and Qutubullapur. All towns in the district with more than 100,000 people are part of the conurbation of the city of Hyderabad.

Economy

The majority of the population is employed in agriculture. Mainly sorghum ( sorghum), rice, finger millet, beans, and peas. In addition, hand weaving is an important industry. There are in the metropolitan area of Hyderabad many industrial businesses in the area, however, only a few small industrial enterprises (cement factories, chemical products). In the cities, people live by trade in goods and services.

History

Rangareddy is part of the Telangana region and shares its history. The district Ranga Reddy was established on August 15, 1978 by spalling of Hyderabad. Originally it was called Hyderabad Rural, but was renamed in honor of former Deputy Prime Minister KV Ranga Reddy.

The district comprises 37 Mandals Rangareddy ( talukas ) and 982 inhabited villages.

Politically the district is now divided into the three control districts Chevella Division, East Division and Vikarabad Division.
