Ranies is a district of Nice (Elbe ) in a salt land district, in Saxony -Anhalt, six kilometers from the city center and located on the eastern side of the river. Ranies is on the same Auer Werder, a large river island between today's current age and Elbe Elbe.
Geography
The area of the village Ranies is enclosed in the west, south and east of a same loop. The city is located about 7 km from Gommern Ranies away.
History
1176 emerges originally Slavic populated place first time in documents. The village church, " St. Lucas " dates from the 13th century. The remoteness kept the community often plundered and destroyed ( during the Thirty Years' War, and 1806 ).
Ranies was 1692/93 affected by witch hunts. The 24 -year-old Catherine, wife of Henry Randel, was caught in a witch trial. She was accused of having a devil pot. She received eight days in prison.
In a more than 125 -year tradition of Ranieser choir can refer. A supra-regional attraction is the Carnival Monday parades that take place since 1954.
On 1 January 2009 Ranies was incorporated into the City Beautiful Beck.
