Ranomafana National Park

The Ranomafana National Park is a national park in Madagascar in the (Province of Fianarantsoa ). The national park is known both for its waterfalls and thermal pools as well as for the diversity of lemurs and birds. It was founded in 1991 designated as a National Park. Together with other national parks of Madagascar ( Marojejy, Masoala, Zahamena, Andringitra, Andohahela etc. ) Since 2007 he is part of the World Heritage of UNESCO.

The national park is covered with a dense rain forest and has an area of about 41,000 ha Thanks to its evergreen rain forest thrives here a great variety of plants such as orchids, tree ferns and mosses. The park is home to a total of 12/2 monkey species and 118 bird species, of which 68 are threatened with extinction in Madagascar.

Geography

The National Park is located between the two regions Haute Matsiatra and Vatovavy - Fitovinany.
