The community association Ransbach -Baumbach is an administrative unit in the form of a local authority in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. The municipality includes the town Ransbach -Baumbach and ten independent local churches, the council is based in the eponymous city Ransbach -Baumbach.
The administrative area is located in the Kannenbäckerland between the Rhein-Westerwald Nature Park and Nassau.

The association council Ransbach -Baumbach consists of 28 volunteer council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a personalized proportional representation, and the full-time mayor as chairman.

On September 10, 2006 mayoral elections were held in the municipality Ransbach -Baumbach, as the current incumbent Gottfried Dahm resigned for reasons of age. As a new mayor was elected with 74 % vote share of the non-party Michael Merz.
