Ers is a municipality with 1043 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the judicial district or district Murau in Styria. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the community Rinegg, the new community will be named " Ranten " to continue.

Geographical Location

Ers located 11 km north- west of Murau.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Freiberg, Ranten, Seebach unt drafts.

History

The municipality Ranten was built in 1849 /50. These included the former cadastral or control communities Ranten and Freiberg. 1873 was separated by law of 10 February Freiberg as its own municipality. On 1 January 1948, the municipalities Ranten and drafts were forcibly united to the community Ranten, on January 1, 1965 Freiberg was re- incorporated Ranten, the community came to the municipality Seebach Ranten.

Economy and infrastructure

According to Census of 2001, there are 23 workplaces with 69 employees in the community as well as 367 commuters and 20 commuters. There are 97 agricultural and forestry enterprises (of which 50 in the main acquisition ), which together manage 4,592 ha (as of 1999).

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 July 1980. Coat Description: In blue to silver split shield a fallen rafters of silver and red, which is the front, back covered with three blue iris with three silver roses.
