Rat tail radish ( Raphanus sativus )

The rat tail radish ( Raphanus sativus subsp. Mougri, even snake radish, radish pods, Luftradies or Mougri ) is a crop from the family Brassicaceae. He is very closely related to the radish (Raphanus sativus subsp. Sativus ) related and comes from Asia.

Unlike the radish but it does not eat the turnip, but up to 15 cm long, reminiscent of " rat tails ", crunchy pods that are eaten raw, unripe or pickled in vinegar. Also, its leaves are used as vegetables.

Sow April to August in the field. You will look like radishes pulled in rows. After about seven weeks can be harvested.
