Raphelengius was a book printer family in the 16th and 17th centuries. The family name is the Latinized form of the Dutch surname van Ravelingen, named after the Flemish town Ravelingen, today a district of the Belgian port city of Ostend.

The progenitor, Franciscus Raphelengius the Elder (1539-1597), took over the management of the establishment of the Christoffel Plantin's publishing house in Leiden in 1585, the three sons -.
