Rapsodie

The reactor Rapsodie (of réacteur rapidly à Sodium Experimental ) was the first research reactor, the fast breeder technology in France.

Rapsodie was built at the instigation of CEA- top officials George Vendryes in the nuclear research center Cadarache and used from 1967 to 1981 for research purposes. 1981, the reactor was shut down, as more, much more modern reactors ( Harmony, mazurka, Phenix, Superphénix ) had been built by now, with their standard Rapsodie could not keep up.
