Raquel Tavares

Raquel Tavares (born 11 January 1985 in Lisbon ) is a fado singer.

Career

At the age of 12, she won the Grande Noite do Fado. Your guest appearances in the following years she also led to France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Holland, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. Their debut album was awarded the 2006 prize for the best newcomer of the Foundation Amália Rodrigues.

In 2004, she played in a supporting role, a fado singer in the movie " O Milagre segundo Salomé " by Mário Barroso, and she took in 2007 with a song in part on CD & DVD tribute project for the protest song and Fado de Coimbra singer Adriano Correia de Oliveira.

She lives in a traditional Lisbon 's Alfama district, in which also the Fadomuseum and fado as the Clube de Fado lie. This quarter they devoted their second album.
