Ras el-Tin Palace

The Ras el -Tin Palace (Arabic قصر رأس التين, DMG Qasr Ra ʾ s at- tin ) is a former royal palace on the Mediterranean coast in Alexandria, which was built in the early nineteenth century. He clearly shows the effects of different architectural styles. During the time he was repeatedly rebuilt and expanded. It involved a number of European, mostly Italian architects and engineers. It is used today as a government building and is the oldest still in use palace. The Last King of Egypt Farouk I, signed in Ras el -Tin his abdication in 1953 and went into exile from here.
