Rashida Jones
Rashida Leah Jones ( born February 25, 1976 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress, screenwriter and singer.
Life
Rashida Jones is the younger daughter of media mogul, producer and musician Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. She has an older sister, Kidada Jones, and five half-siblings ( by other relations of her father ). Her father is African-American and Welsh origin and her mother Russian-Jewish and Latvian- Jewish descent. Jones was educated in the tradition of Reform Judaism and attended a Hebrew school, which she, however, with ten years left again, which is why she did not bat mitzvahs. She grew up in Bel Air. Her parents separated when Jones was 14 years old and then grew up with her mother in Brentwood. After graduating from college she planned to become a lawyer, but then studied at Harvard, religion and philosophy. Even there, they turned to the performing arts, starred in several theater plays and was musical director of an a cappella group. She completed her studies ended in 1997.
Acting Career
Jones made her acting debut with a small role in the mini- series The Last Don in 1997. According to a supporting role in the Emmy -winning TV movie Women Love Women and a guest appearance on the series Freaks and Geeks (2000) succeeded Jones the role of Louisa Fenn in the Fox series Boston Public breakthrough.
After her role was written after two years of the series, Jones was seen in some movies and TV films, including the romantic comedy The Ex - Little Black Book (2004 ) on the side of Brittany Murphy. This was followed by the lead role in the British comedy series NY- LON ( 2004) and another in the TNT series Wanted ( 2005) as Detective Carla Merced. Jones also appeared in several pilot episodes that were not produced on the pilot out on. In 2006, she played from the third season of the hit series The Office, the sales staff Karen Filippelli. Other roles followed in the comedy My Idiot Brother, The Big Year and The Muppets Jason sail. For Celeste & Jesse she co-wrote with Will McCormack the script and played the female lead role.
Music career
From a young age played Jones classic piano music and has been honored with awards. As a background singer she has the band Maroon 5 and supports also contributed a song to Tupac Shakur tribute album. Shakur was the fiancé of her sister.
Personal
Jones is committed to various charities, especially for children. After relations with Tobey Maguire, music producer Mark Ronson, the author and artist Seth Meyers, Josh Hartnett and her The office colleagues John Krasinski, she was romantically involved with Barack Obama's speechwriter Jon Favreau.
