Rathmannsdorf

Rathsmannsdorf is a municipality in Saxony near the cities Hohenstein and Pirna. The community is located about two kilometers downriver from Bad Schandau in rechtselbischen natural area of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and adjacent to the National Park Saxon Switzerland. Geography

The lowest point of the municipality is located in the Elbe valley in the district Wendischfähre at an altitude of 120 m above sea level. NN.

History

In 1445 Rathmann village was first mentioned ( Rademsdorff ) and was constructed in the form of a Waldhufen village. Rathsmannsdorf belonged after its establishment to the reign Wildenstein, which remained in the family of Berken from the Duba. 1451 but had to Berken the rule assign them to the Electors of Saxony. 1467 Rathsmannsdorf was purchased by the city Schandau. 1569 was the return to the Office Hohenstein, but the village in 1602 was once again back to Bad Schandau.
