Rathmore, County Kerry

Rathmore (Irish: An Rath Mhór, dt: " large ring Fort ") is a village in County Kerry in the southwest of the Republic of Ireland, directly west of the border in County Cork. The place is located in the heart of Sliabh Luachra region, which is known for its traditional Irish music and culture.

  • Aogan O'Rathaille ( poet and writer ).

Traffic

The Mallow - Tralee railway line runs through the city and connects it to Cork, Dublin and Tralee. The train station of Rathmore was opened on December 1, 1854, and closed for goods traffic since 3 November 1975.

The Overland Bus Eireann bus connects the town also with Cork City and Tralee.

Rathmore is divided into two parts: one part of the town is home to the business center of the town, while the other part of the authorities, schools and churches are located.
