The Ratingen Ost railway station is one of two railway stations with passenger transport in the city of Ratingen North Rhine -Westphalia and station of the S- Bahn Rhein -Ruhr.

Was opened in 1872 as the Ratingen Ost Bahnhof Ratingen station of the Bergisch- Märkischen Railway Company (BME ) together with the Ruhrtalbahn. After the nationalization of the BME, he received the 19th century the present name. The station is located between the districts of East and Central Ratingen and is mainly for commuters in the Dusseldorf area of great importance.

From the former goods station from, inter alia, the now dismantled railway sidings to the nearby companies Balcke -Dürr GmbH, Wilhelm Pulch foundry and ironworks were served. The former goods station was dismantled in favor of park - and-ride parking.
