The Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz is a long-legged breed of dog from Spain without recognition by the FCI. Origin and History

The name Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz means literally " Andalusian wine cellar rats hunter ". It is believed that the dogs of the breed are descendants of small terriers, the English wine producers and mining companies with brought to southern Spain and had mated in the late 18th and early 19th centuries with native dogs, whose job it was, ports or wine cellar rats and mice kept free and hunt them. Later, probably Toy Terrier were bred.

Description

The breed has a predominantly white body with black and brown ( tan) markings on the head. To tan markings must be located above the eyes. The hair is tight fitting and short. The triangular ears are folded terrier -like forward. The head is narrow and relatively petite. The eyes are a bit melancholic and he has a deep black nose. The musculature is strongly developed and the sternum protrudes plastic, the legs are elongated and strong. Most dogs are born with a shortened tail of different lengths.

Nature

The Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz has remained a working dog today, whose main task is to keep farms, warehouses and stables free of mice and rats ( Rattler ).
