Ratschendorf is a small municipality in the district Südoststeiermark or judicial district of Bad Radkersburg in Styria. Ratchet village has 634 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) and located in the Styrian volcano land near the border with Slovenia. On January 1, 2015, is joined in the Styrian municipality structural reform with the community of German Goritz, the new community will continue the name German Goritz.

Geography
Ratschendorf is located about 6 km from Mureck and 20 km from Bad Radkersburg, amidst the charming southern Styrian landscape. Around Ratschendorf is a dense hiking and biking trail network that is used by guests as a popular combination of the Mur- meadows to the forests and vineyards.

Neighboring communities
History
The area around Königsberg was already inhabited in the Neolithic period. Also, other findings are evidence of a continuous colonization of the area. Ratschendorf was in the second half of the 12th century for the first time as a "race village" - mentioned - as a village of " Rasso " or " Ratzo ". Finds from the Roman period are exhibited in the Roman temporal museum.
Helfbrunn
In the district Helfbrunn is the only pilgrimage church of the district, " Maria Helfbrunn ". A few meters away there is a Lourdes grotto with a spring.
Necropolis hill storage roof
About a kilometer south of the village on the ratchet Diepersdorfer road is located in a small wooded area the Roman times marked as ground monument necropolis hill storage roof. Here you can find some more or less recognizable barrows. Due to the particular results of archaeological excavations, the "Roman Museum Temporal Ratschendorf " was built in 1990. The museum can be visited any time, the key to it can be picked up at the inn carnival.

The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 November 1954. Blazon: "In a divided shield right in the black box, a silver bar on the left in the red box an upside- handle silver grave log. "
