Ratschkathl

Ratschkathl is a female stage character of popular theater which meant literally " ratcheting Kathi ". Today, the term is generally used in the Bavarian and Austrian language as a synonym for a garrulous female person.

As the inventor of the role of " Ratschkathl " means the People's actress Elise Aulinger. Also, the actress Ida Schumacher is associated with this role in the piece perfected the role of the Ratschkathl the Viktualienmarkt. Liesl Karlstadt also played the role of " Ratschkathl ". Because of her first name is also the popular Actress Kathi Prechtl was often referred to as " Ratschkathl ". The comedienne Maria Peschek occurs in their Bünhnerolle of Paula Pirschl with kitchen apron as typical Ratschkathl in appearance.

Due to the different regional dialects of Bavarian language is also the spellings Ratschkatl, Ratschkattl and Ratschkaddl have established. From 1889 to 1921 appeared in Munich, the popular weekly newspaper Munich Ratcheting Kathie who described himself as " consumer genial sheet for transport ".
