History

Etymology

The origin of the name of mountain rats is related to the oldest spellings and can not be unambiguously determined. However, a derivative of the old personal names " Rapoto " ( Rado, Rato or Raido ) is likely to be true. The mention of an " Rapoto " of rats and its sister mountain " Erga " around the year 1139 is shown. The developed over time spellings Rogitinperge, Rodunchberga, Raitenperg, among others Ratenperg are almost certainly only corrupt forms of the name originally adopted. Not quite excluded also a derivative of the verb appears " clear / Reuten ". Perhaps rats mountain is also only a tainted by linguistic mutilation and long tradition form of " Ramsperg ".

First mention

" Notum sit posteritati universe .... " according to a deed of gift of the monastery Oberalteich that could be dated to the first half of the year 1105 begins.

The whole document text is mutatis mutandis in German translation as follows: " It is recorded herewith for all progeny that our Vogt Friedrich and his wife Luitgard and brother Ulrich and son Frederick to the altar of St. Peter and the local brothers for her and her parents salvation Good bequeath a last will and testament, which is located in Rogitinperge ". The one with the Counts of Bogen very closely related Regensburg Domvogt Frederick III. , His wife and his brother and his son bequeath accordingly with this deed " to the altar of St. Peter and the local brethren ", ie the monastery of St. Peter in Oberalteich, a Hof ( " unum curtile " ) in " Rogitinperge "

Rats mountain in the Middle Ages to modern times

In " Rogitinperge " was created after the settlement of the first farming estate gradually a small farming community, the so called over the years, first as numerous other smaller traditional Bavarian settlement units " Gemain " " Gemain ze Rottnperg ".

It later became a slightly larger business community and there was, especially in Perlbachtal, for many years the " Dorfgemain " in rats mountain so the " Dorfgemain Rotnperch ".

Rats Mountain enters the sources of the 15th JH. as an official of the Court Mitterfels in appearance.

The court Mitterfels was divided into seven (later eight) minions offices. Christanszell ( crisis cell ) was one of them. Minions offices were divided into whether or captaincies today about a community comparable.

Whether one or captain, 20 yards at that time from the middle of the farm owner ordered each - For about 10. The officials (judges ) of the court Mitterfels sided administrative judge and duties devolving upon them under standenen minions ( officers ) were comparable to today's police.

Development in the 19th century

Before the subdivision in municipalities was, first, the county division was completed. The district court Mitterfels was (1810 ) the lower Danube Circle ( 's 1837 " Lower Bavaria " ) slammed. In 1821 it came to the final conclusion of municipal unions. After that belonged to the district court Mitterfels ( = lower Danube Circle ) and others the immediate ( country court matic ) Rural communities ( rural: country setting, rural ):

  • Rats Mountain: 2 villages, hamlets 7, 13 wildernesses and 111 families
  • Siegersdorf: 3 villages, 2 hamlet, 20 wildernesses and 83 families.

The 20th century

Fundamental changes of the community structure since the community formation of 1821 there were only 150 years later by the local government reform in 1972 and 1978.

In the municipalities, the municipal reform led primarily to the dissolution of many smaller communities and to summarize into larger units.

For the community of rats Berg here were the following changes:

January 1, 1972: Integration of the community Siegersdorf

July 1, 1972: The community Grub lost in the context of local government reform their independence. The villages Grub, hammer village, lower and upper Gschwandt were incorporated into the municipality rats Mountain, district of Straubing -Bogen, Regierungsbezirk of Lower Bavaria. The remaining area was the municipality Zandt and thus the District of Upper Palatinate slammed.

January 1, 1978: Inclusion in the hamlet of Riedel Forest ( then 14 inhabitants) from the dissolved municipality Elisabethszell

Only a short time after the municipality amalgamation rats mountain and Siegersdorf effective May 1, 1978, the formation of the joint management Konzell / mountain rats. However, this by the majority of the population perceived as a " forced marriage " merger did not last long. The "rebels community " mountain rats was released after several failed attempts at the fourth attempt on 1 January 1994 from the administrative community. Since rats mountain again has its own administration which is housed since 1996 in the newly built city hall in the village square.
