The company Rauch fruit juices GmbH & Co OG (proper spelling: SMOKE ) is an internationally active Austrian fruit juice manufacturer based in Rankweil in Vorarlberg. The company, which has plants in Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Poland and Serbia, employs more than 1,400 employees.

History

The family business was founded in 1919 by Franz Josef Rauch as small Mostpresserei for the surrounding farmers. In the interwar period, but the fruit juice production has already been carried out industrially. In 1962, the company was taken over by the next generation and internationally oriented.

In the 1970s, smoke was with the brands Happy Day and Bravo to the market leader on the Austrian market. From glass bottles was switched to Tetra Pak. In 1998, the drinks offer was extended to iced tea. In addition, the Fohrenburg brewery was taken over in Bludenz. Since then, even more different brands of soft drinks were introduced on the market.

In the 1970s, Austria had an anti-smoking campaign, which was " going without smoke 's also " with the slogan proclaimed. Then the Rauch has the slogan "Without smoke as it gets when one speaks of the fruit juice " created and was known until the 1980s.

The production comprises four business areas: the actual fruit juice, fruit juice concentrates, which Fohrenburg brewery and contract filling (eg Red Bull ). The products are exported to over 90 countries.

2011 generated smoke with over 1,400 employees ( with the Fohrenburg employees ) revenues in the amount of 723 million euros. In addition to the manufacture of fruit juice smoke today is the only packer for drink Red Bull GmbH, which is why the smoke logo is also visible on the Formula 1 cars of the Salzburg world. Smoke also cooperates with the German Bitburger Brewery Group. As part of this cooperation, 2008 Smoke - products of Bitburger sold since February.
