Rauda

Rauda is a municipality in the northeast of the Saale- wood country - circle near Eisenberg and part of the joint management Heathland Elstertal - Schkölen.

Geography

The place is located on the same stream Rauda, which rises near Hermsdorf and east of the village at Crossen in the Weisse Elster flows. A piece west of the town is the northern entry into Eisenberger Muehltal.

Adjacent communities include the city of Eisenberg, Hartmann village ( in Eisenberg ), heathland and Silbitz (OT Seifartsdorf ).

History

In September 1219 Rauda was first mentioned.

1880 took place in Rauda the connection to the railway line Crossen -Eisenberg, which was extended in 1905 to Porstendorf. 1999 traffic on the remaining remnant Crossen -Eisenberg was adjusted.
