Ravahere

Ravahere (old name: Dawhaida or Dawhaida Iceland ) is an uninhabited atoll of the Tuamotu Archipelago in French Polynesia. It is 53 km north-west of Nengonengo away and is only separated by a 2 km wide waterway of Marokau. The boomerang -like island has a length of 18 km in length with a maximum of 7.5 km in width. The lagoon of the atoll has no navigable access to the sea.

Ravahere and Marokau form the so-called Deux Iles Groupes. Ravahere belongs to the municipality Hikueru.

Louis Antoine de Bougainville discovered the island in 1768.
