Rave Master
RAVE (Japaneseレイヴ, Reive ) is a completed manga series of the Japanese illustrator Hiro Mashima, which was also implemented, among others, as an anime series. Are told the adventures of the boy Haru Glory in the fictional world of the continent song. The work is classified in the genres of action, comedy, adventure, fantasy and romance.
Action
On the small island garage Iceland Haru Glory performs with his sister a normal life. But one day Haru finds the strange dog Plue. Then he meets the old man Shiba, is later than the first Rave Master introduces himself and claims to seek Plue for fifty years. Haru does not want to give Plue however. Shiba tells him that there was war fifty years ago, and he has struggled with Plue there against the Dark Bring, evil stones. But in the subsequent battle between Haru and a member of the organization Demon Card, again threatening the world now with Dark Bring, provides Shiba stated that he, the counterpart of Dark Bring, can no longer use Rave, because Haru, the new master of Raves is. Haru receives from Shiba sword Ten Commandments, that the power of Rave enabled.
Now enters the master of raves Haru and his companion Plue, who is the tamer of raves, to smash on a dangerous journey to Demon Card and to collect all five Rave stones.

Formation and Publications
According to Hiro Mashima Haru should only embody an alchemist who can manipulate at metal. He has come up as a middle school student and he himself does not know whether Plue should be a dog or something else Plue. Most cities in RAVE bear a name that has to do with music, hence RAVE - The Groove Adventure.
RAVE was released in Japan from 1998 to 2005 in separate chapters in the Japanese manga magazine Shōnen Magazine. These individual chapters were also summarized regularly in a total of 35 manga anthologies from the Kodansha publishing house.
In German RAVE was published from 2004 to January 2014 by Egmont Manga and Anime and is fully published. For some time, the series was also published in the now-defunct magazine Manga Power. The German language edition of anthologies sold insufficient for Egmont Manga & Anime and became a failure. The manga appears among others in English, French, Spanish, Italian and Chinese.
Adaptations
Anime
Directed by Takashi Watanabe Studio Deen, a 51- episode anime series to manga produced. The character design designed Akira Matsushima and the artistic director had Kyoko Nakayama held. The series was aired from 13 October 2001 to 28 September 2002 TBS in Japan.
The television series ran among others on the U.S. television channel Cartoon Network and has also been translated into French, Spanish and Portuguese.

From RAVE several video games have been published so RAVE Master: Special Attack Force and Groove Adventure Rave: Hikari to Yami no Daikessen Groove for the Game Boy Advance as well as Groove Adventure Rave Rave for the PlayStation and Adventure: Fighting Live for the GameCube.
Reception
As a " witty and successful blend of sci-fi elements with fantasy and Western ingredients" the series is described in the journal AnimaniA. However, the manga also remember very successful on shows such as Inu Yasha and especially One Piece and was not very original. The already known concept but nevertheless contributed to the success of RAVE in Japan. The drawing style Mashima is clear and varied, especially the panel size fits the artist flexible history, and fit so well to the story. In the review of the first volume writes the manga scene, the plot consisted of rows of " standard set pieces of adventure stories" and remember too often successful in older series. The implementation was probably only appealing to the target audience.
