Ravna Gora (Suvobor)

Ravna Gora (Serbian Cyrillic - Равна гора = " Flush Mount ") is an inaccessible hills in the Serbian highlands Suvobor. It is located about 120 km from Beograd ( Belgrade ), 180 km from Novi Sad and 50 km from Valjevo and 35 km from Gornji Milanovac away.

Church

1994 Orthodox Church of Saint George was built to commemorate the deaths from 1941 to 1945 in the civil war on the Serbs Ravna Gora. The Serbian party Srpski Pokret Obnove (SPO) financed the construction. Construction was the 13th May 1995. Appearance and design of the church was entrusted to the architect Dr. Predrag Ristic. In 1998, the church, the bell tower and the gate was completed. In the same year, 15 km of road were paved up Ravna Gora.

Celebrate

There also the Serbian commander Dragoljub Mihailović Draža was dedicated a statue in 1992. Ravna Gora is a popular travel destination for Serbs from around the world. Every 11th and 13th of May will be held on Ravna Gora celebrations and church services.
