Rawka (river)

The Rawka is a centrally Polish river in the Łódź Voivodeship with a length of 97 kilometers. She is a right-side tributary of the Bzury. The Rawka springs east of the city and flows between Koluszki Łowicz and Sochaczew in the Bzury. It is the largest tributary of the Bzury.

At the Rawka a nature reserve was established in 1983. The cities on the Rawka the city Rawa Mazowiecka, the former village Rawka, today districts of Skierniewice, as well as the villages Bolimów and Nowy Dwór. The river was known for the Battle of the Rawka that was fought out between December 1914 and August 1915 by German and Russian troops.
