Rawson Department, Chubut

The department Rawson lies to the east of the province of Chubut in southern Argentina and is one of the 15 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the Departamento Biedma, on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Department of Florentino Ameghino and to the west by the department of Gaiman.

The capital of the department is Rawson Rawson.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC, the population increased from 115 829 inhabitants (2001) to 147,700 inhabitants in 2005.
