Ray Armstead

Raymond " Ray" Ricky Armstead ( born May 27, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri ) is a former American track and field athlete and Olympic champion.

From 1982 Armstead had a personal best in the 400 - meter dash of 46.13 s in 1984, he could at least qualify for the Trials for the Olympic Games in 1984 as the fourth best runner for the season. In the final, Sunder Nix ran and stood behind the Nigerian and Australian first runner. Ray Armstead as runner was able to overtake the Nigerians, but was still behind the second Australian Darren Clark.
