Ray Cooper

Ray Cooper ( born August 19, 1942 in Watford, Hertfordshire ) is an English percussionist.

He worked as a studio and live musician with bands and artists such as Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Sting, Phil Collins, George Harrison, Eric Clapton and Elton John. His eccentric, sometimes freaky appearance on the stage earned him the nickname "Mad Ray Cooper" one.

Cooper's career began in the 1960s with shots of the band The Who. It was followed by productions with Carly Simon, David Essex and Blue Mink. He became known through collaboration with Elton John, with whom he collaborated in almost all the albums from the 1970s. Also on the Live Aid concert in 1985, he belonged to his companion. On November 29, 2002, he participated as a musician and co-producer at the memorial concert for his friend George Harrison. 2009 Cooper worked with Peter Maffay, again in 2010 with Elton John. In Albert Dupontels Comedy 9 mois ferme Cooper was seen in 2013 in a cameo as a newscaster.
