Ray Meyer

Raymond ( Ray ) J. Meyer ( born December 18, 1913 in Chicago, Illinois, † March 17, 2006 in Wheeling, Illinois) was an American basketball coach. Between 1942 and 1984 he coached the team from DePaul University. The 1945s team to George Mikan led Meyer to win the NIT title, the first and only title in the history of the university. 1978 Meyer was elected " college coach of the year". His record with DePaul is 724-354 in 42 seasons. Since 30 April 1979, a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Meyer Hall of Fame.
