Ray Nazarro

Raymond " Ray" Alfred Nazzaro ( born September 25, 1902 in Boston, Massachusetts, † September 8, 1986 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American film director, screenwriter and film producer, who nominated once for an Academy Award for best original story had.

Life

Nazzaro, who worked at the beginning of his career in the film industry in Hollywood by the nickname " Nat" Nazzaro, since 1929, was first director of short films and began a few years later his work as an assistant director and scriptwriter. As a director and assistant director, he worked initially in several low-budget film productions of film production companies in the so-called " Poverty Row" with, so smaller and smallest film studios before he worked as a director at Western productions of Columbia Pictures in 1945 for several years. As a director, assistant director and scriptwriter, he contributed to the production of more than 110 films and television series.

At the Academy Awards in 1952 Nazzaro was nominated together with Budd Boetticher for the Oscar for best original story, and indeed for the romantic drama film Bullfighter and the Lady (1951 ) by Budd Boetticher with Robert Stack, Joy Page and Gilbert Roland.

He he produced 1955-1956 also several episodes of the television series Fury and led 1955-1960 with 23 episodes directed.
