Ray Sefo

Ray Sefo (* February 15, 1971 in Auckland ) is New Zealand martial artist.

Sefo learned as a teenager, the Chinese martial art of Wing Chun. Later, Ray Sefo prescribed Muay Thai, which he learned from the martial arts legend Kiosot. Sefo remained unbeaten as an amateur kickboxing. As a professional, he fought primarily in Europe and the USA. There Sefo quickly made ​​a name by victories over Andre Manaart, Kirkwood Walker and Michael McDonald. In 1997, he achieved his greatest success with winning the WKBA World Heavyweight Championship.

Between 1994 and 2001 Sefo also denied sporadically professional boxing matches, most recently in September 2001 when he through a first-round co lost.

1996 Ray Sefo held its first meeting at the K -1. However, his debut bout against Ernesto Hoost. In the following years he defeated many well-known opponents like Mark Hunt, Peter Aerts, Jerome Le Banner or Bob Sapp. His biggest success in K-1 was reaching the finals of the K -1 World Grand Prix 2000., Where he lost to Ernesto Hoost.
