Raymond Belle

Raymond Belle ( born October 3, 1939 in Vietnam, † December 1999) was a French soldier and firefighter. He is considered one of the progenitors of locomotion Parkour.

Life

Raymond Belle was in what was then French Indochina, now Vietnam, was born. During his childhood his father died in the First Indochina War and 1954, he was separated from his mother because of the division of Vietnam. Belle was taken by the French Army in Da Lạt and received even during his school days military training and training that shaped his character. At the age of 12 he tried with his friends escape efficient techniques to improve his chances of survival during the war in his homeland.

With the end of the Battle of Dien Bien Phu Belle was sent back to France where she completed in 1958 his military training. To help his physical fitness and his willingness led him to join at age 19 a unity of Sapeur prompiers de Paris.

Through his athletic ability and outstanding achievements Belle came to an elite unit of the fire department. The members of this regiment are able to perform the most difficult and dangerous rescue missions.

In his period of service in the brigade Belle fully introduced several exceptional performances. In 1962 he was for outstanding achievements in the fight against a garage fire and 1969 for his dangerous air use, where he removed a Vietcong flag on the top of Notre- Dame de Paris Cathedral, honored.

Since Raymond Belle repeatedly demonstrated courage and self-sacrifice, 1969, he was awarded a Bronze Medal.

" Sergeant Belle " left the brigade in 1975 and died in December 1999.
