Raymond De Felitta
Raymond De Felitta (* June 30, 1964 in New York City ) is an American actor, film director, film producer, screenwriter, and jazz pianist.
Life
De Felitta made in 1987 graduated from the American Film Institute and then had the choice to join the industry or trying to realize his own projects. And though he had offers totally crazy for movies such as holidays and Problem Child Hazzard to take over the government, he refused and opted for the path of the Independent filmmaker. His first short film Bronx Cheers in 1991 nominated for the Oscar for the best short film. In the following years he made films such as Shadow of Doubt - shadow of a doubt, Two Family House and Reine family thing. He recently 2009 Meet the Rizzo, which film won the Audience Award at the Tribeca festival. For the film, he worked with actors like Andy Garcia, Emily Mortimer and Alan Arkin. Even with his other works, he was able to convince in a wide variety of film festivals and won several film awards.
With the revision of Meet the Rizzo to a pilot episode De Felitta bot last at Warner Bros., a concept for a TV series.
De Felitta is the son of screenwriter Frank De Felitta. He is married to Sherry Brennan since 2001 and both have since August 2004 a son.
Music
Besides his work as an independent filmmaker De Felitta also released two albums. In 1994 Movies' til Dawn and 2007 appeared Fatha country that is dedicated to the musician Earl Hines. But cinematically, De Felitta approached on its second pillar music. So he turned 2006 documentation 'Tis Autumn: The Search for Jackie Paris Jackie Paris. Most recently, he worked with composer Kim Oler and lyricist Alison Hubbard on Musical Buddies Tavern, which is based on his film Two Family House. Directed by Warren Carlyle will be presented for the first time in Manhattan.
