Raymond de Sauvetât

Raymond of Toledo was Bishop of Osma and then 1125/26 bis 1152/51 Archbishop of Toledo.

He was responsible for the cultivation of the Tajo region through irrigation systems and encouraged scholars translated the works of Arab philosophers and scientists into Latin. Whether he built the School of Translators of Toledo, is not clearly established.
