Raymond Hecht

Raymond Hecht ( born November 11, 1968 in Gardelegen ) is a retired German javelin thrower.

His best jump of 92.60 meters, thrown in 1995, to today 's German record. Hecht is with this width of the fourth-best javelin thrower of all time. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, he finished in fourth place. He took this unfortunate place already at the World Athletics Championships in 1995. He was almost symptomatic of his career. He was also fourth in the Olympic Summer Games 2000 in Sydney. He was German champion in 1990 in the GDR and after the reunification in 1993, 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2002. At the European Championships in Budapest in 1998, he won the bronze medal with 86.63 meters. At the Junior European Championships 1987, he won with 72.78 m also a bronze medal.

Raymond Hecht had a size of 1.91 m, a competition weight of 105 kg, and competed for the SC Magdeburg.
