Raymond P. Kogovsek

Raymond Peter Kogovsek ( born August 19, 1941 in Pueblo, Colorado) is an American politician. Between 1979 and 1985 he represented the third electoral district of the state of Colorado in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Raymond Kogovsek attended until 1959 the Pueblo Catholic High School and thereafter until 1962, the Pueblo Junior College. He then continued his education at Adams State College in Alamosa and to 1965 at the University of Denver continued. Between 1964 and 1973 Kogovsek File Clerk was in Pueblo County and from 1974 to 1978 he was an assistant to a lawyer. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party. Between 1968 and 1974 he was a delegate in the House of Representatives from Colorado; to 1978 he was a member of the State Senate. Between 1966 and 1979 he was a delegate at all regional party conferences of the Democrats in Colorado.

In the congressional elections of 1978, he was elected in the third district of Colorado in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington. There he took over on January 3, 1979, held until then by Frank E. Evans seat after two elections could Kogovsek implement his mandate in Congress until January 3, 1985. In 1984 he abandoned a bid again. After his time in Congress Kogovsek is no longer politically have appeared. He now lives in Pueblo.
