Raymond Unwin

Raymond Unwin ( born November 2, 1863 in Oxford, † June 2, 1940 in Lyme, Connecticut ) was an English architect and town planner.

After studying at Oxford, he opened in 1896 in Buxton with Barry Parker an office. The order for the garden city of Letchworth (1903), making him the first architect of an English garden city. 1907 followed by an order for Hampstead. 1911-1914 he was a professor of urban planning at the University of Birmingham, 1914, he was Chairman of the Town Planning Inspectorate London.
