Raziq Faani

Razeq Fani ( b. 1943 in Kabul, † April 25, 2007 in San Diego ), also Raziq Faani, was an Afghan poet and writer with Tajik background. He is one of the most important representatives of contemporary poetry in Afghanistan.

Life

After studying Political Economy in Sofia, Raziq Faani 1977 returned to Afghanistan, where he became completely devoted himself to poetry. His first book of poetry he brought in 1966 under the title Armaghan e Jawani out. It was followed by other works, including a novel about life in Afghanistan ( 1983) and a collection of short stories and satires (1987). 1988 emigrated Raziq Faani with his family to the United States to San Diego, California, where he passed away in April 2007.
