RCA Red Seal Records

RCA Red Seal is an American record label.

History

Red Seal was founded in 1902 by the Gramophone Company in the UK. A little later it was taken over by the Victor Talking Machine Company. At this time the famous tenor Enrico Caruso was under contract. From 1929, the label was distributed by RCA Records. Significant conductors such as Arturo Toscanini, Eugene Ormandy, Leonard Bernstein and Arthur Fiedler were obtained for recordings. Today, it is distributed by Sony Masterworks, jazz and classical music label of Sony Music Entertainment.
