RE: Alistair

RE: Alistair is an English Otome Game ( Adventure Japanese Typuses for female players ), developed and published by SakeVisual for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. It was released on 28 February 2010. The game was unofficially translated into Russian. An official German translation by Marcel Weyers was published on 23 June 2012, the German image processing took this SD designs.

Game mechanics

The player assumes the role of Merui Lucas. The game is told primarily in the visual novel style, where the player can change the course of history through decisions and can build a relationship with one of the three potential boy. The player must also build up some statistics of Merui, such as "intelligence " and " reputation ". In addition, you can buy items, such as video games, books and clothing; this also leads to other scenes and influenced the game.

Action

Merui is a girl who loves video games. She often plays an MMORPG with their online girlfriend Fiona. As a boy, with the user name Alistair a rare item in the MMORPG Online Rivenwell steals, she decides to take revenge. Unfortunately, she does not know who the person is in real life. She finds out that only one of three boys may be on their school Alistair; Travis, Shiro or Derek. The player can influence the story and begin a romance with one of the three. But in the end it turns out that Derek is Alistair, while Shiro plays the angel Fiona and Travis is an administrator in the game with the name Oda.

RE: Alistair & Backstage Pass

On April 10, 2010, an improved version of the game titled RE: Alistair published. The game have been added, including new scenes and a bonus menu.

On January 1, 2013, a new Otome game, entitled Backstage Pass was announced. The game is in the same universe as RE: Alistair settled and according to the developers included the things you in RE: Alistair might have missed. It was also hinted that characters from RE: Alistair could have cameo appearances. This game is part of SakeVisuals Green Tea Line and therefore commercially. Backstage Pass is fully synchronized in English and will be published in 2014. Several voice actors has already been confirmed, including Casey Mongillo, Joel McDonald, Lucien Dodge and Micah Solusod.

Merchandise

On 10 September 2010 an artbook of RE was: Alistair published, contained the official images from the game and pictures of fans. SakeVisual also sold at conventions such as All -Con and Anime Festival Merchandise. Among other things, they offered to stickers, postcards, t -shirts, art books and stuffed animals. SakeVisual created exclusively a nearly 9 cm Alistair figure and said that further figures are possible when the figure sell well, while other characters from other SakeVisual games are possible as from the Jisei series.

Reception

It received a rating of 88/100 on Gamertell, Jenni Lada wrote about the game (freely translated from the English ): "I 'm honestly surprised that RE: Alistair is a free game. It is very well done [ ... ] The story is well written, to be regarded with believable characters, the graphics are nice and easy [ ... ]

Indie Review rated the game 3.5 stars out of 5 stars and wrote about the game: ". Nonetheless outweigh the strengths of the game and it is definitely worth a look, if you're a fan of visual novels "

Gamezebo gave the game 4.5 out of 5 stars, Mike Rose called RE: Alistair as "an incredible addition to the visual novel genre, with a great story and beautiful graphics. "
