Reader

A Reader (. Engl. fibula; pl readers, usually in the German falsely reader ) is a - mostly excerpts - compilation of most scientific texts of one or more authors under joint topic. Readers are mostly spent in preparation for conferences and seminars, and take on the role of a common reading canon. The concept comes from the Anglo-American academic practice.

As a publication type books and text collections are referred to the German-speaking readers for the most part, a selection already published elsewhere, canonical texts of a scientific field ( art history, literary theory, philosophy of science, etc.) commented edit. Reader serve to provide insight into the development of a subject, a discipline or method.
