Real Avilés

Real Avilés is a Spanish football club based in Avilés in Asturias. Club playing in the 2012/13 season in the Segunda División B. The club receives the tradition of Real Avilés CF, the original oldest football club in Avilés upright.

History

The beginnings

In 1903 the Aviles Sports Club ( first club of the city) was founded before it was renamed in 1906 in Círculo Industrial y de Sport de Avilés after the merger with the Sociedad Obrera Industrial. Under this name the club played in the Segunda División. After the Spanish Civil War the club had to change the name again, as the government under Franco did not allow any foreign ingredients in the club name. Thus, the time of the CF Real Avilés broke.

Renewed fusion and last years

In some seasons in the 50s Aviles returned to the Segunda División. At this time the Club Deportivo Llaranes was founded with the the Real Avilés CF merged in 1983. Again they gave the club a new name - Real Avilés Industrial. The greatest success after the merger was to participate in the Segunda División seasons 90/91 and 91 / 92nd

Aviles plays at the Estadio Román Suárez Puerta, which has a capacity of 5,200 spectators.
