Real (Quezon)

Real is a Philippine municipality in the province of Quezon.

Geography

Real a coastal town on the east coast of the island of Luzon in the bay of Lamon is located about 133 km from the provincial capital, Lucena City and 145 km from Manila.

History

Spanish troops landed in the early colonial period at the site of present-day Montreal, where they built a port called Puerto Real. Were reinforcing troops in the near Binangonan del Ampon stationed (today Infanta ).

Real belonged until 1960 for the Municipality of Infanta. The municipality of Real, consisting of the Barrios Llavac, Cawayan, Capalong, Tignoan, Kiloloron, Lubayat and Pandan, was established by the signed by President Carlos P. Garcia Executive Order No. 410 of 15 December 1960.

By Typhoons Violeta, Winnie and Yoyong in December 2004 500 people were killed or are missing since then.
