Rebel Heart (song)

Rebel Heart is a song by Irish band The Corrs from their third album, In Blue. It is an instrumental piece with Celtic influences, mainly with violin, bodhran and tin whistle.

The song was mainly composed by Sharon Corr and was actually a separate commission for the four-part series Rebel Heart by BBC Ireland. Subsequently, the Corrs decided to include the song in the album. He was nominated in January 2001 for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance. On the official website of the Corrs, Sharon Corr is quoted as saying:

"I wrote it in Malibu at the piano while taping Talk on Corners. For a long time then lay it around until the BBC was looking for music for their great autumn - drama about the Easter Rising in Ireland by 1916. It has a very Irish melody, we added the tin whistle and another, and then it was just right. "
