Rebracketing
Agglutination ( banding from Latin agglutinare = attach ) ( antonym: Deglutination ) is the inclusion of a syntagmatic neighboring sound in the sound chain of a word. Here comes the sound either on or auslautender position on that word, although it does not belong historical linguistics there.
Agglutination mainly occur in languages in which the flow of speech whether lack of larynx glottal stops blur word boundaries (eg French, English).
Example: Early Modern to eke name ( ' an also - name ') > Modern English a nickname ( ' pet name, nickname ') The n- initial sound in nickname comes from the preceding indefinite article.
Even with the contraction of the Arabic article with the corresponding nouns in Spanish Lehnworten Arab origin is called agglutination.
- As- sukkar - azúcar ( additional phonetic assimilation of / s / as sun letter)
- Al - quṭn - algodón
- Az- zait - aceite
Normally, the Spanish Arabisms note the phonetic rules of Arabic. That is, sun letters are assimilated phonetically, at the moon letter / l / of the article remains al - receive.
