Recai Kutan

Mehmet Recai Kutan ( b. 1930 in Malatya ) is a Turkish politician and served as chairman of the Felicity Party ( Saadet Partisi ), and high officials of three forbidden predecessor parties Milli Görüş movement.

Life

Recai Kutan was born in 1930 in Malatya (Turkey). In 1952 he finished his studies in civil engineering at the Technical University of Istanbul. Between 1952 and 1969, Kutan worked in various capacities in the state Water Board ( Devlet Su İşleri ). He also led the planning and research for the Southeastern Anatolia Project. From 1969-1977, he led the company TÜMAŞ then newly founded.

As of 1973, Kutan ( Millî Selamet Partisi, MSP) operated politically in the National Salvation Party Deputy Chair. He was a member of the Turkish Parliament and from mid- 1977 to early 1978, Minister of Construction. After the banning of the MSP as a result of the military coup of 1980, he joined in 1983 the Welfare Party ( Refah Partisi, RP), the successor party to the MSP to. In the parliamentary elections of 1996, he won a parliamentary seat again and took over from mid- 1996 to mid-1997, the Office of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. In 1998, the Welfare Party was banned in the wake of the processes after 28 February 1997 ( resignation of Prime Minister Erbakan (RP ) under pressure from the National Security Council ) by the Constitutional Court. Kutan took over in 1998 the chair of its successor party, the Virtue Party ( Fazilet ) until their ban in 2001. Recai Kutan took over in the same again this time chaired the successor party to Felicity Party ( Saadet Partisi ). In 2003, he was replaced by Necmettin Erbakan, from whom he took office in 2006. In October 2008, he was replaced by Numan Kurtulmuş.

Kutan 1993 belonged to the founders of Channel 7 ( Yeni Dunya Iletisim AS), a Turkish television station, the first of the Welfare Party, the Virtue Party to disseminate their thoughts Good served. In 2004 he became chairman of the "Center for Economic and Social Research" ( Ekonomik ve Sosyal Araştırmaları Merkezi, ESAM ), which also belongs to the Milli Görüş movement.

Recai Kutan is married and father of three children.
