Recensio.net - review platform for the European History - is a Europe- oriented, multilingual online platform for reviews the historical and scientific literature.

Concept

Recensio.net results in journals published book reviews the historical and scientific new releases together on one platform. The reviews are thematically dedicated to the history of Europe and may be published in print both online: recensio.net does not claim to exclusivity of the published content and assumes the role of open access aggregator in this sense true. All cooperating magazine editors continue to work autonomously. At the same authors have the historical and scientific texts ( monographs and articles ) the possibility of the core theses of their publications to present and thus to provide the technical discussion. Users of the platform can both reviews such as presentations comment and thus participate in the discussion of current issues and approaches in European historical research.

Published on recensio.net reviews and presentations are available in Open Access. The texts are searchable in full text and be enriched and long -term archiving of the Bavarian State Library with metadata.

The navigation of the platform languages ​​are German, English and French; the reviews and presentations can be written in any European language.

The aim of the platform is to facilitate the exchange between European historians and to make reviews more visible and more accessible.

Recensio.net is one of the German Research Foundation (DFG ) funded joint project of the Bavarian State Library (BSB ) Munich, the University of Cologne and the Leibniz Institute for European History ( Mainz).

The project was launched in January 2011 to mark the transition from online recensio.net the international conference on " Science Communication in the Digital Age " performed at the Historical College in Munich.
