Receptor theory

Receptor theory is a term used in pharmacology. It explains the effects of various drugs as an interaction of Pharmakomolekülen with physiologically occurring cellular structures ( called receptors), in principle, similar to the hormones. Simplifies transmit receptors spoken incoming "messages" to the cell and thereby influence their function.

Essential part of the receptor conceptual theory is that the drug to the receptor is one for a certain time window, the solid complex.

To understand this can be two types of complexes differ:

Since the transitions between 1 2 are fluid, it is called the intrinsic activity, the active intensity. With this background, the pharmacological terms " agonist" and " antagonist " are used.
